Did we really need another thread like this? Really? I think a good comparison for The Simpsons is the Star Wars francise. A New Hope through Return of the Jedi are like the first 10 seasons of The Simpsons. Phantom Menace through Revenge of the Sith are like the past 10 seasons of The Simpsons. Everybody compares the two and says the newer ones are garbage compared to the original BUT…how much of that is merely nostalgia? If Star Wars Episodes 1 through 3 had come out in the 70s and 4 through 6 had come out now, people would be saying how 1 through 3 were so much better. It’s exactly the same thing with The Simpsons. People get so caught up in nostalgia that nothing ever compares to the original, even when it is just as good.
